Overview

Position Summary
The General Superintendent will lead all field operations during the build phase of complex data center construction projects. This role is responsible for overall site leadership, safety, schedule execution, quality control, and coordination of all trades to ensure successful delivery of mission-critical facilities.
The ideal candidate has deep experience managing large field teams, fast-track schedules, and high-intensity MEP and mission-critical construction environments.
Responsibilities- Provide overall on-site leadership for data center construction projects from mobilization through substantial completion
- Lead and manage all field superintendents, craft labor, and trade partners
- Drive project schedule adherence and coordinate daily, weekly, and milestone planning
- Enforce safety standards and lead a zero-incident safety culture across the site
- Oversee quality control to ensure all work meets contract documents, specifications, and commissioning requirements
- Coordinate closely with Project Management and MEP teams to align field execution with project goals
- Manage sequencing and integration of complex MEP systems, including electrical, mechanical, and controls scopes
- Lead daily site meetings, pull planning sessions, and subcontractor coordination meetings
- Identify and proactively resolve field issues related to logistics, manpower, materials, and constructability
- Support commissioning, integrated systems testing (IST), and turnover activities
- Maintain strong relationships with owners, inspectors, and third-party commissioning agents
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience as a Superintendent on large commercial or industrial construction projects
- Proven experience leading data center or other mission-critical facility builds
- Strong understanding of data center construction sequencing, including power, cooling, and redundancy systems
- Demonstrated experience working for a General Contractor during the build phase
- Expert knowledge of safety regulations, QA/QC processes, and field execution best practices
- Ability to manage large, multi-discipline field teams in fast-paced environments
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience on hyperscale or large colocation data center projects
- Background in fast-track, design-build, or GMP delivery models
- OSHA 30 certification (or equivalent)
- Experience supporting commissioning and IST activities
