Protecnium is an international consulting firm specializing in engineering and technical services (). We are currently looking for a Construction Manager to join our team for utility-scale solar infrastructure projects in South Carolina, USA (on-site position). Project:
Utility-Scale Solar Plant Construction (Civil Phase).
The Construction Manager will lead and oversee all on-site construction activities related to civil works for multiple utility-scale solar projects. The role ensures safe, timely, and cost-effective execution in compliance with project specifications, contractual requirements, and company standards.
Main Responsibilities- Lead all on-site construction activities related to civil works, including grading, access roads, drainage, foundations, trenching, and site preparation.
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, field engineers, survey teams, and suppliers to ensure alignment with project schedule and scope.
- Ensure strict compliance with HSE standards, environmental regulations, and company safety policies.
- Monitor construction progress, productivity, and quality of work, identifying risks and implementing mitigation plans.
- Review construction drawings, RFIs, submittals, and change orders, ensuring technical accuracy and constructability.
- Work closely with Project Managers, Engineering teams, and Procurement to coordinate material delivery, equipment availability, and manpower planning.
- Track project milestones and prepare daily/weekly progress reports for senior management and client stakeholders.
- Manage inspections, punch lists, and handover activities in coordination with QA/QC teams.
- Support cost control efforts by monitoring subcontractor performance, installed quantities, and potential claims or variations.
- Maintain strong communication with client representatives and local authorities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Industrial, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in EPC construction (solar or heavy infrastructure preferred).
- Proven experience managing civil works in large-scale construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, contracts, and site management practices.
- Experience in utility-scale renewable energy projects is highly valued.
- English level: C1 (Advanced).
- Valid U.S. work permit required.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work in fast-paced, multi-project environments.
- Working for an international company currently expanding.
