Job OverviewTxDOT’s Waco District is hiring a Maintenance Section Supervisor for the Belton Maintenance Office. The role leads a dedicated maintenance crew and oversees all roadway upkeep, safety, and emergency response within a specified geographic area.
Responsibilities- Lead, develop, and manage a maintenance crew.
- Plan, assign, and inspect roadway projects.
- Manage equipment, materials, budgets, and personnel.
- Coordinate emergency responses to incidents and severe weather.
- Address public and stakeholder concerns professionally.
- Supervise technical and clerical employees and office activities.
- Ensure safety guidelines are followed and conduct training.
- Monitor and prepare the budget.
- Operate and maintain light and heavy equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- 9 years roadway maintenance or construction–related work.
- 3 years supervisory/managerial experience.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Class "A" Commercial Driver’s License with "N" endorsement.
- Commercial driver’s license with "N" endorsement.
- Experience with intermodal transportation engineering, bridge construction, and MDOT.
- Knowledge of the Texas Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
- Incident management, safety standards, and budgeting experience.
- Public relations and supervisory skills.
- Work both indoors and outdoors under varying conditions.
- Exposure to hazards such as moving vehicles, mechanical parts, and chemicals.
- Protective gear required.
- Medium lifting: up to 50 lbs.; frequent lifting up to 25 lbs.
- Required to report to duty within 45 minutes of a 24‑hour notification.

Annual salary range: $76,530.00 – $. Exempt, day shift, Monday–Thursday 7 a.m.–5:30 p.m., onsite work, 10 % travel.
