Waco District-Maintenance Section Supervisor (Belton Maintenance Office)

Job Overview

TxDOT’s Waco District is hiring a Maintenance Section Supervisor for the Belton Maintenance Office. The role leads a dedicated maintenance crew and oversees all roadway upkeep, safety, and emergency response within a specified geographic area.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, develop, and manage a maintenance crew.
  • Plan, assign, and inspect roadway projects.
  • Manage equipment, materials, budgets, and personnel.
  • Coordinate emergency responses to incidents and severe weather.
  • Address public and stakeholder concerns professionally.
  • Supervise technical and clerical employees and office activities.
  • Ensure safety guidelines are followed and conduct training.
  • Monitor and prepare the budget.
  • Operate and maintain light and heavy equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • 9 years roadway maintenance or construction–related work.
  • 3 years supervisory/managerial experience.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Class "A" Commercial Driver’s License with "N" endorsement.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Commercial driver’s license with "N" endorsement.
  • Experience with intermodal transportation engineering, bridge construction, and MDOT.
  • Knowledge of the Texas Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
  • Incident management, safety standards, and budgeting experience.
  • Public relations and supervisory skills.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
  • Work both indoors and outdoors under varying conditions.
  • Exposure to hazards such as moving vehicles, mechanical parts, and chemicals.
  • Protective gear required.
  • Medium lifting: up to 50 lbs.; frequent lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Required to report to duty within 45 minutes of a 24‑hour notification.
  • Pre‑employment physical and drug testing required.

Salary and Work Details

Annual salary range: $76,530.00 – $. Exempt, day shift, Monday–Thursday 7 a.m.–5:30 p.m., onsite work, 10 % travel.
