Senior Project Manager - Commercial Construction
Are you a proven Project Manager who thrives on leading teams, building relationships, and seeing complex projects come to life? A well-established, full-service general contractor in the Beloit/Rockford region is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to take ownership of major commercial projects and lead from preconstruction through closeout.
This is a company that believes in partnership over politics, where decisions are made locally, people are valued, and leaders have the autonomy to build the right way.
About the Role
As Senior Project Manager, you'll oversee all aspects of project delivery-budget, schedule, quality, and client satisfaction. You'll be the driving force behind coordination between owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors, ensuring projects are executed safely, efficiently, and profitably.
You'll also play a key leadership role in mentoring junior staff, guiding preconstruction strategy, and maintaining trusted relationships that drive repeat business.
What You'll Do
- Manage commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring alignment with budget, schedule, and quality goals.
- Lead project teams, providing direction, mentorship, and accountability to ensure operational excellence.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, building strong, lasting relationships through communication and results.
- Oversee subcontractor selection, contract administration, and field coordination.
- Monitor cost reports, change orders, and forecasts to ensure project profitability.
- Partner with estimating and field teams to develop accurate schedules, logistics plans, and risk strategies.
- Drive safety and quality initiatives across all project phases.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in commercial construction management.
- Strong background managing projects in sectors such as healthcare, education, industrial, or commercial.
- Proven success leading teams on projects $10M-$50M+.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Work with a highly respected contractor known for quality craftsmanship, integrity, and long-standing client partnerships.
- Join a collaborative environment that values people as much as projects.
- Competitive compensation, vehicle allowance, bonus potential, and comprehensive benefits.
- Opportunities for continued growth into Project Executive or leadership roles as the company expands its market presence.
All qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to race, age, color, sex (including pregnancy), religion, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, military status, genetic information, or any other status protected by applicable laws or regulations. GPAC (Growing People and Companies) is an award-winning search firm specializing in placing quality professionals within multiple industries across the United States since 1990.
We are extremely competitive, client-focused and realize that our value is in our ability to deliver the right solutions at the right time.
