Overview
Reporting to the on-site Group Finance Accountant, the Payroll Administrator must accurately process and manage payrolls covering multiple sites, maintaining compliance with company policies and legal requirements. The role involves maintaining payroll records, verifying data accuracy and supporting the organisation’s financial integrity and employee satisfaction.
Location: Bellshill, ML4 3NS
Hours: 35 hours per week
Offer subject to satisfactory drugs and alcohol test.
Responsibilities- Collate and review payroll data from all sites
- Process weekly (378 employees) and 4 weekly (56 employees) payroll using Sage 50 Payroll, as well as covering payroll for monthly payroll (333 employees)
- Ensure accurate and timely payments, including pension auto-enrolment, tax codes, student loans, and HMRC notifications
- Manage employee changes: new hires, leavers, salary adjustments, department or personal details
- Prepare and send employment contracts
- Handle year-end processes: P60s, tax updates
- Maintain HR records in People HR system
- Provide coverage for monthly payroll processing
- Ensure new start information and are received and processed correctly
- Current experience with Sage 50 Payroll
- Previous experience in payroll
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Knowledge of HMRC processes and payroll legislation
- Excellent organisational skills
- Strong ethics, with an ability to manage confidential data
- Ability to manage several tasks concurrently
- Experience using financial software and proficient with Microsoft Excel
