SummaryThe Lead Material Specialist will assist the Manager, Materials in the day-to-day operations of the department. This role will schedule, compute time cards, train, maintain inventory levels, and work with other departments and stakeholders to ensure an adequate supply of materials for the aircraft are available. This role will need to understand fiscal responsibility and time management, as well as shipping and receiving.
Minimum Requirements- Must be authorized to work in the US as defined by the Immigration Act of 1986.
- Must pass a Criminal Background Check.
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Certified Forklift operator.
- Minimum two (2) years experience working in an Airline Stores environment.
- Inventory management and rotations experience required.
- Must be knowledgeable and capable of using Microsoft Office Suite at an Intermediate Level.
- Successfully pass In-house Training, IATA, or DOT-approved Hazardous Materials Training.
- Excellent verbal (telephone) communication skills.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License.
- Must be able to work various shifts including weekends and holidays.
- Travel may be required to deliver parts to other Stations.
- Receive, sign for, process, and safely handle aircraft maintenance-related parts, material, equipment, and tooling, including entering data into the inventory management system and processing the associated documentation.
- Transport parts and materials between various locations, sorting and counting items, and preparing labels and related ticketing documents.
- Appropriately issue materials and process returns.
- Enter outstation inventory transactions into the inventory management system.
- Package items for shipment and coordinate with shipping vendors for pick up.
- Keep the stores clean and well organized.
- Perform data entry into the computer inventory system to include locating, issuing, receiving, and shipping of materials.
- Perform inventory audits, inspections, and reconciliations of materials based on direction from leadership.
- Monitor and update stock items, minimum, and maximum stock levels, and coordinate stock level adjustments with Maintenance, Purchasing, and/or other departments within Allegiant.
- Other duties as assigned.
May be required to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 lbs. Regular attendance is a requirement. Exposure to extreme noise. Ability to work in a confined area. Some travel may be a requirement.
