Internship Application

We are excited to offer internship opportunities for MSW (Master of Social Work), Counseling, and other Human Services students passionate about working with families and children impacted by trauma. This internship provides hands-on experience in family support services and an opportunity to deepen your knowledge of childhood trauma and its effects.

Duration:
Flexible; based on academic schedule and requirements
Location:
Bellingham, WA
Compensation:
Unpaid
Supervision:
Direct supervision by licensed social workers and mental health counselors.
Responsibilities May Include:
- Provide direct services to children and families affected by trauma under the supervision of a licensed or trained professional according to the terms of the learning contract of their program.
- Participate in Brigid Collins's on-call service during regularly scheduled hours.
- Observe and support individual and group therapy sessions.
- Research best practices in family support services.
- Assist in organizing and facilitating parenting seminars and parenting groups.
- Provide administrative support in maintaining case files and documentation.
- Current enrollment in a Master's program in Social Work (MSW), Counseling, or a related field.
- A strong interest in family dynamics, childhood trauma, and providing support to families in crisis.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and ethical standards in a professional setting.
- Willingness to engage in learning and development in the field of trauma-informed care.
