Position SummaryAssist the store manager with daily tasks and act as the supervisor in their absence. Maximize the store’s financial performance and help achieve growth and sales targets by managing and motivating the sales team. Build an emotional connection between Fred Meyer Jewelers and customers through engagement and communication, both in store and online. Achieve personal sales targets while demonstrating the company’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.
DesiredPrevious Job Experience
- Knowledge of Fred Meyer Jewelers policies and procedures
- Management experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, First Place, Act, and Intranet
- Experience directing or participating on project teams
- High school diploma or GED plus a minimum of 6 months of Fred Meyer experience and 1 year of jewelry sales experience; or equivalent education and experience
- Minimum age of 18 years
- Ability to pass a drug test
- Maintain confidentiality
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks/projects
- Completion of Diamond Council of America (DCA) courses within one year of hire
- Model customer-first behavior and encourage associate excellence in customer service
- Maintain location profitability through sales, shrink, and expense control
- Achieve personal sales targets, including credit applications, protection plans, and Diamond Design Parties
- Support the store manager in training and developing sales professionals, following up on onboarding of new team members
- Foster lifelong emotional connections with customers through clienteling
- Support the coordination of operations functions
- Display merchandise and promotional materials per corporate merchandising plans
- Advise customers on quality, cuts, value of jewelry and gems, and assist in selecting settings
- Provide product knowledge, features, and benefits when presenting merchandise
- Estimate repairs and inspect/clean customer jewelry
- Perform watch battery replacements and band adjustments
- Suggest designs for custom jewelry
- Follow receiving and processing procedures
- Maintain overstock/understock conditions to preserve ordering system integrity
- Maintain daily/weekly sales and take appropriate action
- Respond to customer comments/complaints
- Complete customer incident and associate incident/accident report forms
- Participate in inventory processes
- Complete case counts
- Assist with and process time and attendance
- Develop staff scheduling and enter weekly work schedule for associates
- Assist with special maintenance arrangements for location
- Maintain flexibility to work any shift, including holidays and overtime
- Travel to other store locations to provide backup coverage occasionally
- Must be able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation
