The Food Safety Quality Assurance Technician (FSQA) conducts activities concerned with the quality assurance of the production processes, materials, and products by performing the following duties.

• Conducts standardized tests on products and materials to ensure compliance with internal standards, customer specifications and international, federal and state regulations.
• Documents data obtained during all quality assurance activities, consistent with HACCP standards and company policies and procedures.
• Records test data such as weights, temperatures, moisture content, qualities and quantities inspected or graded.
• Applies proper acceptance/rejection criteria and marks items with details such as grade and acceptance or rejection status.
• Audits production facility and reviews employee behavior for proper sanitation.
• Communicates significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and provides recommended process improvements to Production/QA Management.
• Prepares reports to communicate involvement and results of quality assurance activities to production.
• Identifies work related problems and recommends effective solutions as appropriate.
• Maintains a working knowledge of company, government and industry quality assurance codes and standards.
• Acquires knowledge of Trident’s Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions.
• Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings.
• All other duties as assigned.

This is a nonexempt position with an hourly rate of $19.72 – $22.65 per hour.

• A minimum of 1 year experience in food processing.
• High‑school diploma or equivalent.

• 3 years of experience in food processing.
• 1 year of experience in Quality Assurance in a food processing facility.

The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms; occasionally required to climb or balance; regularly required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, and talk or hear. The employee moves objects regularly up to 5 pounds, frequently up to 10 pounds, and occasionally up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
