Maintenance Mechanic

Smart Talent Lynnwood is seeking reliable and motivated individuals for a food manufacturing company in Bellingham, WA. Ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of previous industrial maintenance in a production setting.

LOCATION: Bellingham, WA

Pay: $30 - $35

SCHEDULE:

Must be flexible to work days, nights, and weekends. The normal start time will be 4pm.

Key Responsibilities:

• Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.

• Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.

• Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.

• Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements using micrometers, calipers, and gauges.

• Repairs or replaces defective parts.

• Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.

• Lubricates and cleans parts, equipment, and machinery.

• Tests and adjusts equipment to meet performance specifications.

• Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, saws, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.

• Sharpens and reshapes tools as necessary.

• Initiates purchase order for parts and machines.

• Repairs electrical equipment.

• Follows plant food safety policies and industry best practices.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Completes required environmental, health, and safety training and applies knowledge to daily work activities.

• Reports any potential safety hazards, equipment issues, or environmental risks in accordance with established procedures.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in Production Maintenance.

• HS Diploma or equivalent.

• Familiarity with hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors and bagging machines.

• Ability to operate a variety of hand tools to include welding machines, cutting torches and power tools.

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
