Program / Project Manager, Operations Manager
Whatcom County’s Administrative Services Facilities Management division is recruiting for the position of Facilities Supervisor. The Facilities Supervisor is a critical member of our leadership team, overseeing and performing tasks related to maintenance, construction and repair of facilities, grounds, operating systems and equipment.

- Supervising a crew of maintenance and construction staff
- Managing demanding maintenance programs and construction projects
- Promoting and supporting the mission of the Department

Associate Manager - Facilities
Hours of Work8:00 AM - 4:30 PM | Monday - Friday
Salary Range$6,410 - $9,308
Qualifications- Requires an Associate’s Degree AND at least two (2) years of lead or supervisory experience AND one or more of the following:
- Five (5) years journeyman level construction trades experience
- Five (5) years project management or foreman experience in construction industry
- Five (5) years experience in facility and grounds maintenance
- Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage for employees and their family
- Generous Paid Time Off (PTO) and 12 paid holidays annually. Prior related public service considered for setting accrual rate. Accrue up to 330 hours of PTO annually. Cash‑out up to 40 hours over 330 maximum annually.
- 1st – 4th year: 18.00 hours (5.4 weeks)
- 5th – 9th year: 21.33 hours (6.4 weeks)
- 10th + year: 24.67 hours (7.4 weeks extensão - changed)
- Lifetime pension through the Washington State Public Employees' Retirement System (PERS), with joint contributions required from the employee and the County.
- Voluntary Deferred Compensation Retirement with County match.

We are required by State Law to list the full salary range. As a public entity and in a union‑covered position, we are required to make pay decisions based on experience, qualifications, and equity with other employees. Hiring rate is typically limited to the entry to mid of the posted salary range, subject to required approvals.
Subject to satisfactory performance, this position receives annual pay increases to the next step in the associated salary range (approx. 3.8%), in addition to any approved Cost of Living Adjustments (COLA).
