Meadows Montessori School (MMS) is an Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) Recognized school and a licensed childcare facility by the WA State Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF). MMS offers authentic Montessori education to children aged 15 months through 12 years and serves a diverse community with a commitment to affordable tuition and quality education. The school features classrooms for infants and toddlers (A to I), preschoolers (Children’s House), and elementary students (Lower and Upper Elementary).
MMS emphasizes a whole child, place-based approach to its curriculum, fostering the potential of each child and family.
This is a full-time, on-site role for an AMI Assistants to Infancy Lead Guide, located in Bellingham, WA. The Lead Guide will be responsible for creating a nurturing, developmentally appropriate learning environment for toddlers. Responsibilities include designing and maintaining an AMI Montessori classroom environment, observing and monitoring student progress, guiding the social, emotional, and educational growth of children, and establishing positive relationships with parents, families, and colleagues.
The Lead Guide will also contribute to the school community through planning and participating in events, professional development, and collaborative projects.
- AMI Certification in Assistants to Infancy and experience working with children aged 15 months to 3 years
- Strong classroom management, observation, and lesson planning skills in a Montessori environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster collaboration with colleagues and positive partnerships with families
- Knowledge of child development and a demonstrated ability to nurture the social, emotional, and cognitive growth of young children
- Ability to contribute to a diverse educational community with a commitment to equity and inclusion
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field preferred
- CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain prior to start date
- A passion for Montessori education and willingness to embrace and model its principles
