General Description of Work

WCC invites applications for a part‑time adjunct instructor to teach nursing starting the winter quarter of 2026. Candidates should embody WCC’s core themes—success, community, equity, and effectiveness—and support an inclusive, engaging learning environment that encourages academic and personal growth.

Successful Candidate

  • Demonstrates content knowledge in the program or discipline.
  • Uses student‑centered, inclusive pedagogy with innovative curriculum and teaching methods.

Responsibilities
  • Teach required courses incorporating evidence‑based practice to prepare students for the nursing workforce.
  • Collaborate with college faculty and administrators to shape the future vision and scope of the nursing program.
  • Remain current in the field and adapt courses to meet changing nursing job skills and qualifications.
  • Develop and maintain contacts and knowledge of community organizations and employers.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • Baccalaureate degree in Nursing from an accredited institution and nursing education program; 3+ years of relevant clinical experience; waiver available from the Nursing Care Quality Assurance Commission.
  • Current unencumbered license to practice as a registered nurse in Washington or ability to obtain license upon hire.
  • Current acute‑care clinical experience to support student learning.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Nursing or related field, or a bachelor’s degree with a master’s in health or education.
  • Experience teaching nursing in a higher‑education setting with a student‑centered approach.
  • Experience designing, implementing, and evaluating evidence‑based learning activities.
  • Experience with team‑centered work groups and curriculum development.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn, grow, and meet the needs of others.
Salary and Benefits
  • $12,975.00‑$21,213.00 to teach Nursing 172, Clinical and Lab, winter quarter (based on lab hours).
  • Accrues a percentage of 7 hours (equivalent to workload percentage) per month of sick leave.
Start Date

Winter quarter 2026, as soon as possible with the successful candidate.
