Western Washington University maintains a vacancy pool of qualified individuals for temporary, non-tenure track teaching positions on a part‑time (up to three courses per quarter) basis. Positions may become available at any time and are typically filled on a quarterly basis.

About the PositionThe vacancy pool accepts continuous applications for temporary, non‑tenure track teaching positions on a part‑time basis, with occasional opportunities for temporary, full‑time appointments. The position typically involves teaching up to three courses per quarter (≈15 classroom hours per week) at the college algebra, pre‑calculus, and business math levels.
Position Responsibilities- Teach and develop course material for assigned courses.
- Maintain current knowledge in the discipline and foster active student engagement through investigation and analysis.
- Provide timely feedback on coursework and examinations.
- Maintain regular office hours in accordance with departmental policy.
- Submit student evaluation forms to the Department Chair and faculty for annual review.
- Master’s degree in mathematics or a related field by the date of appointment.
- Evidence of effective undergraduate teaching experience.
- Commitment to cultivating equitable and inclusive learning environments for students with diverse identities and backgrounds.

Compensation is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
