Summer Dive Coach

We are looking for trustworthy Dive Coaches who want to make positive connections with our members and program participants.

Responsibilities:

• Encourage and support athletes of all skill level.
• Promote the sport of dive using encouragement, good sportsmanship, and fun.
• Attend and be on time to all practices. Arrive 5-10 minutes early to set up beforehand and stay a few minutes afterward to put away and clean any equipment (mats/chairs/dive rails).
• Practice times TBD in 40 minute slots Mon-Fri from mid-June through end of July. (Timing includes 10 minutes dry land training prior to each group’s diving board practice session).
• Find a substitute dive coach (must be CPR/First Aid certified, and Safe Sport trained) if you cannot attend practice. If no substitute is available, then work with the Teams Manager and Club Manager to discuss alternate practice plan or cancelation notification.
• Work with the Teams Manager and Club Manager to schedule any pre-season practices.
• Attend all meets, typically Monday and Wednesday evenings. Prepare dive selection and competition sheets for all competing athletes.
• Adhere to the Midlakes Dive Operating Plan
• Attend Mandatory Coaches Meetings (pre-season and championships) as required.
• Attend Midlakes Dive Championship Meets.
• Attend season-end awards banquet, date to be determined based on upper pool deck availability.

Qualifications:

• CPR and First Aid Certification or Lifeguard Certification
• Safe Sport Training
• At least 3 years of high school dive
• Ability to work with all levels of divers from novice to proficient
• Ability to communicate with pool staff, parents, league officials, and other coaches
