Job DescriptionVisa U.S.A. Inc., a Visa Inc. company, needs a Staff SW Engineer (multiple openings) in Bellevue, WA to:
- Architect, design, develop, test, document, and implement complex software applications and microservices using Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, and MySQL.
- Evaluate and introduce technology tools and processes to enable the development of innovative products and solutions, improving operational efficiency and embracing new business opportunities.
- Use generative AI in the development lifecycle to enhance automation, code generation, problem-solving, and process optimization.
- Develop and implement unified control center and monitoring tools to measure, monitor, and report on platform health, data availability, capacity, and utilization trends.
- Perform business and technical analysis, code reviews, and unit testing to ensure quality and compliance with development requirements.
- Design, develop, and implement modifications and corrections to existing software, including developing debugging routines and fixing bugs in codebases.
- Develop and optimize database queries and author procedures for large project deployments.
- Apply appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the secured software development life cycle (SSDLC) to support engineering applications and products.
- Participate in cross-functional teams, collaborating with architects, systems analysts, project managers, QA, and other developers to implement business requirements using the latest tools and technologies.
- Ensure on-time delivery of projects, production support plans, and knowledge transfer for long-term maintainability of upgrades, enhancements, and deployments.
- Mentor junior developers and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, scalability, and high performance in software solutions.
- Produce technical documentation for new development, system enhancements, and production support.
- Monitor platform health, generate performance reports, and drive continuous improvements.
- Position reports to the Bellevue, Washington office and may allow for partial telecommuting.
Basic Qualifications:
Employer will accept a Master’s degree in In Math, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related field and 3 years of experience in the job offered or in a Staff SW Engineer-related occupation.
Alternatively, the employer will accept Bachelor's degree In Math, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related field and 6 years of experience in the job offered or in a Staff SW Engineer-related occupation.
