Salesforce is the #1 AI CRM, where humans with agents drive customer success together. Here, ambition meets action. Tech meets trust. And innovation isn’t a buzzword — it’s a way of life. The world of work as we know it is changing and we're looking for Trailblazers who are passionate about bettering business and the world through AI, driving innovation, and keeping Salesforce's core values at the heart of it all.
We’re looking for a Lead Member of Technical Staff to be part of our Shopper Agent platform, the heart of Commerce Cloud. You will be the hands‑on engineer for highly scalable, real‑time systems that power AI‑driven shopper interactions for the world’s biggest brands.
You’ll define operational excellence, resilience, and security for systems operating at global enterprise scale.
- Own the Technical Future: champion our long‑term technical strategy, ensuring the platform scales for the world’s largest commerce sites and leverages the latest breakthroughs in AI/ML.
- Play with Cutting‑Edge Tech: research, evaluate, and integrate technologies like Large Language Models (LLMs), Natural Language Understanding (NLU), and vector databases to enhance the intelligence of our agent.
- Solve the Hardest Problems: tackle systemic performance bottlenecks and architectural deficiencies in highly distributed, fault‑tolerant cloud‑native systems, keeping the engine running flawlessly for millions of shoppers.
- Elevate the Craft: influence and collaborate with cross‑functional teams, mentor senior engineers, and raise the bar for engineering excellence across the Commerce Cloud organization.
- 12+ years in software engineering, with 3+ years as a Principal Engineer (or equivalent) for large‑scale production systems.
- Deep mastery of designing and building highly scalable, cloud‑native systems, including distributed and event‑driven architectures.
- Proficiency in a modern backend language (Java, Python, or Go) and experience wrestling large‑scale data in both SQL and No
SQL environments. - Significant experience building and deploying on public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Exceptional technical communication skills — the ability to articulate complex technical vision and help others understand it.
- Experience in e‑commerce, conversational AI, chatbot development, or large‑scale search/recommendation systems.
- Experience deploying machine learning models, especially NLP/NLU or Generative AI/LLMs.
