Position Summary

The Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Interventionist plays a key role in fostering positive social, emotional, and behavioral growth in Club members. This position provides direct intervention and coaching for youth, supports staff in implementing effective behavior strategies, partners with families, and collaborates with Site Directors to maintain a consistent continuum of SEL support across Club sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build strong, ongoing relationships with Site Directors and the SEL/Safety team.
  • Maintain regular communication, including scheduled site visits, follow‑up emails, and availability for consultation.
  • Collaborate with internal SEL staff to ensure consistent, high‑quality SEL practices across all sites.
Behavioral Intervention & Support
  • Partner with staff to implement strategies that promote positive social, emotional, and behavioral outcomes for youth.
  • Model effective behavior interventions, including de‑escalation techniques and trauma‑informed practices.
  • Assist in developing and refining behavioral strategies to ensure safe, supportive environments for all members.
  • Provide follow‑up after interventions to ensure consistency, fidelity, and effectiveness.
  • Empower youth to build self‑regulation skills, problem‑solving abilities, and personal responsibility.
Staff Coaching & Capacity Building
  • Coach staff on implementing behavior supports such as positive reinforcement systems, structured routines, and daily schedules.
  • Lead workshops, in‑services, and training sessions on classroom management, SEL strategies, and Tier 1/Tier 2 interventions.
  • Serve as a resource for staff navigating complex youth interactions or behavioral challenges.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to strengthen knowledge of SEL, trauma‑informed care, and youth behavior support.
SEL Programming
  • Design and deliver SEL programming aligned with Club values and youth development goals.
  • Facilitate activities and workshops that promote empathy, resilience, emotional regulation, and healthy relationships.
  • Support staff in integrating SEL practices into daily programming and routines.
Family & Community Partnership
  • Collaborate with families, staff, and external partners to develop individualized support plans for youth.
  • Partner with local schools, mental health providers, and community organizations to support holistic youth well‑being.
  • Advocate for inclusive, culturally responsive practices that reflect the diverse needs of Bellevue’s youth.
Data, Reporting & Compliance
  • Document interventions, behavioral trends, and follow‑up actions.
  • Prepare written narratives and data reports to support grant compliance and program evaluation.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in education, counseling, social work, psychology, sociology, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum of three years of experience working with youth, including those with behavioral or social‑emotional needs.
  • 1–2 years of experience in education or as a Site Director with Boys & Girls Clubs (preferred).
