The Maintenance Engineer performs building repairs and maintenance tasks, including basic preventive maintenance to the building structure and systems, light maintenance and cleaning. They help promote a culture and demonstrate leadership that is committed to sustainability and strategic energy management.

• Performs general maintenance and repairs
• Orders lighting and plumbing equipment and supplies
• Performs odd jobs for tenants (e.g. including moving furniture, hanging photos)
• Performs other maintenance as directed by work orders
• Participates in the Engineering on‑call schedule

• Some knowledge of basic repairs and lighting
• Familiar with hand tools and general maintenance

• High school diploma or equivalent required

• Reasoning Ability:
  Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved instructions and to deal with problems involving a few variables
• Mathematics Ability:
  Ability to perform very basic math skills including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing two digit numbers; to perform the basic arithmetic operations with money; to perform operations with units such as inch, foot, and yard / ounce and pound
• Language Ability:
  Ability to use passive vocabulary of 5,000-6,000 words; ability to read at a slow rate; ability to define unfamiliar words in dictionaries for meaning, spelling, and pronunciation
