Position: Employment Litigation Attorney

PRK Livengood is seeking a highly motivated employment litigation attorney who is licensed to practice in Washington State, and who has at least five years of experience. Ideal candidates will possess a demonstrated writing, research, and litigation skills and commitment to client service, enthusiasm for working in a team environment, and be ready to hit the ground running on pending cases and immediate client needs. Experience representing management/employers is preferred, and traditional labor and/or school law experience or interest is a plus.

* Job Summary:

* Under minimal supervision, provides senior level attorneys and clients with litigation support and legal guidance.

* Specific Responsibilities:
* * Works with Partner level attorneys to provide research, writing and litigation support on various legal issues

* Communicates with clients to understand their legal concerns and needs to help provide them with essential pieces of advice

* Strategizes on how to resolve the clients’ cases in a favorable and cost-effective manner

* Develops ideal arguments and represents clients in civil legal proceedings

* Prepares legal documents such as memorandums, pleadings, and briefing in a timely and accurate manner

* Draft agreements, employee handbooks, and separation agreements

* Provides support on the labor and employment aspects of business transactions

* Is a self-starter who possess the ability to work independently and as part of a team

* Strategizes on how to resolve the clients’ disputes in a favorable and cost-effective manner

* Stays informed about any current legislation

* Attends the firm’s meetings

* Supports the firm and its leadership

* Vigorously engages in their own professional development

* Establishes and cultivates community relations by maintaining open and candid dialogue with all the firm’s constituencies

* Is familiar with and complies with all firm policies

* Performs other duties as assigned

* Experience advising employers and handling a wide range of labor and employment issues, including litigation, and defending state and federal agency claims, a plus, and

* Draft and review a wide variety of employment policies, offer letters, employment agreements, employee handbooks, and separation agreements

* Education & Experience:

* * Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

* Minimum 3-5 years litigation experience required with an interest in employment and school law

* Deposition and motion experience

* Must be licensed to practice law in Washington State
