Senior Category Sourcing Manager, AWS Infrastructure Services - Supply Chain

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. • Function as the single threaded relationship manager for a strategic supply partner that provides design, development, manufacturing and integration services for AWS servers and server rack integration.
• Matrix manage all aspects of supplier performance including cost, quality, capacity, delivery, compliance, sustainability and overall supply strategy.
• Negotiate and execute complex supplier agreements, statements of work and other contracts by working with cross-functional leads.
• Partner with cross functional teams to deliver RFPs, evaluate vendor responses and align on business awards.
• Deliver AWS’s cost objectives through detailed understanding of all cost drivers and bill of material reviews.
• Develop and successfully negotiate sourcing strategies that align with business objectives while maintaining a sustainable relationship with suppliers.
• Inform and influence senior leadership about business status, risk and opportunities via written narratives.
• Manage vendor escalations and provide executive level updates as required.
• Prepare and present detailed data-driven business reviews with senior management, focused on procurement/sourcing execution and continuity of supply.
• Identify key technology trends in the industry and drive supplier product roadmaps that align with AWS’s technical development and manufacturing initiatives.

• 2+ years of program, project or product management, or leading product implementation experience
• 6+ years of related industry experience
• 8+ years of data analysis using tools such as Excel, Pivot Tables, SQL, Tableau, or equivalent experience
• 8+ years of high volume manufacturing operations or sourcing environments experience
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field
• Experience in data analysis using tools such as Excel, Pivot Tables, SQL, Tableau, or equivalent
• Experience in high-volume manufacturing operations or sourcing environments
• Experience with Continuous Improvement and Six Sigma methodologies
• Experience in global supply chain management, managing cross-functional teams in a fast-paced consumer electronics product company
• Experience in program, project or product management, or leading product implementation
• Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field
• Experience in data centers, infrastructure service providers, or related technology companies
• Experience in negotiations with global suppliers with a proven track record in cost reduction
• Experience in procurement practices working with engineering, supply chain and Tier 1 OEM partners
• Experience practicing best-in-class procurement processes (category management, benchmarking, should-cost models, RFX, reverse auction, contracting, or equivalent)
