The mission of the Applied AI team is to enable organizations within Worldwide  Stores, Devices and other business units to accelerate the adoption of AI technologies across various parts of our business.

Key job responsibilities

As a Principal PMT (PPMT) in the Applied AI team, you empathize with our customers, and identify and formulate the problems we will solve. You work backwards from our customers to create a compelling product vision and a product strategy to solve complex business problems. You own the product roadmap and prioritize features to ensure your MVPs quickly add value for our customers.

You are responsible for managing the lifecycle of your products and work independently with engineers, scientists, and other stakeholders on defining, building, and delivering the right products. Your product requirements are concise, with clear, measurable success criteria. You are an effective negotiator, make smart trade-offs without sacrificing quality, and drive appropriate schedules. You use data to influence our business strategy and technical priorities, and escalate when necessary, without damaging relationships.

You keep all your stakeholders up to date on your products, upcoming capabilities, and future plans. You independently represent your products and the team, and are comfortable communicating with executives as well as with business and technical stakeholders.

A day in the life

  • Dive deep with your customers to identify and understand their pain points.

  • Think big to build durable products that anticipate future pain points.

  • Use your technical judgment and understanding to test assumptions.

  • Write press releases that clearly state the business case and imagine what our customers will say when they are excited when they use your products.

  • Deliver products on time with the right feature set and high quality.

  • Evangelize your products and drive adoption.

  • Think through all aspects of your products' life cycles, incl. business, technical, legal, and marketing.

  • Help others grow professionally.

Basic Qualifications

  • 8+ years of technical product or program management experience

  • Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product

  • Experience leading cross-organizational programs and setting and holding teams and individuals to timelines and deliverables without explicit authority

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated understanding of core AWS technologies, able to weigh the pros and cons of technology choices and propose relevant options.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon also offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, Basic Life & AD&D insurance and option for Supplemental life plans, EAP, Mental Health Support, Medical Advice Line, Flexible Spending Accounts, Adoption and Surrogacy Reimbursement coverage), 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
