As a Senior UX Designer, you will play a key role in shaping the user experience of our flagship products while also acting as a strategic partner to product management and engineering teams. Reporting directly to the Director of UX, and you will work alongside a talented UX team and collaborate with distributed cross‑functional teams. You will be expected to not only execute design but also facilitate crucial conversations that help prioritize design solutions, ensure technical feasibility, and align user needs with business goals.

The ability to balance user advocacy with strategic trade-offs will be essential in this role.

  • Lead the design of user‑centric solutions, ensuring they are intuitive, accessible, and aligned with business objectives.
  • Partner closely with Product and Engineering teams to translate user needs and technical requirements into meaningful design solutions.
  • Use strategic and tactical thinking to navigate challenging conversations with cross‑functional teams, advocating for the user experience while understanding technical constraints and business/product priorities.
  • Conduct user research and usability testing to gather insights and validate design decisions.
  • Mentor and provide feedback to other designers on the UX team whilst also accepting feedback from other team members, contributing to a collaborative and growth‑oriented environment.
  • Work with the UX and engineering teams to develop and maintain design systems and guidelines that ensure a cohesive user experience across our products.
  • Balance multiple projects and priorities, delivering high‑quality design solutions in an agile environment.
  • Collaborate with teams distributed across Canada, the USA, and Australia.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, design tools, and best practices to ensure continuous improvement in our UX design processes.
What Qualifies You:
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in UX design, with a portfolio that demonstrates expertise in both web and mobile application design.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead design projects from concept to delivery, including the ability to provide strategic and tactical guidance.
  • Collaboration: Strong communication and collaboration skills, especially when working with distributed teams and advocating for UX in a cross‑functional environment.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to think beyond individual design elements to understand the broader product strategy and business goals.
  • Research

    Skills:

    Proficiency in user research methodologies, including interviews, surveys, and usability testing.
  • Design Tools: Expertise in using design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar platforms for wire framing, prototyping, and design.
  • Design Systems: Experience in creating and maintaining design systems to ensure consistency across products.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, agile environment, with the ability to adapt to shifting priorities.
