The Technical Instructor will be responsible for providing classroom and/or virtual instruction to students in a manner that is consistent with the course textbooks and/or lab materials. The instructor conducts practical exercises in classroom/lab environments and works closely with students to reinforce the materials taught.
Primary Objectives of the Technical Instructor- Provide classroom instruction to students as prescribed by the textbook and/or lab materials according to GBSI standards.
- Collect student evaluations using a designated evaluation system and maintain daily attendance rosters.
- Develop training slides, lab materials, tip sheets, and other approved materials needed for effective training.
- Prepare classrooms as needed, including returning furniture to initial positions, removing trash, recycling, and disposing of proprietary materials appropriately.
- Demonstrate presentation skills to enhance training and education.
- Apply analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
- Serve as a liaison and build relationships at the training site.
- Prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Actively pursue learning opportunities in the training field.
- Willing to travel up to 65% to provide instruction at multiple sites.
- Assist the technical team with setup and technical requirements for training events.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Four to six years of experience instructing information technology subjects.
- Current certifications in IT networking disciplines (e.g., Sec+, Certified Ethical Hacker, CISSP, Cisco certifications including CCNA Voice, Wireless, ICND2, ICND1, CCNP, TSHOOT, ROUTE).
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, EC-Council CEH, ISC² CISSP.
- Strong interpersonal skills for engaging with students at all levels.
- Expertise in network infrastructure, hardware, security services, and large-scale enterprise training.
- Knowledge of deployment and support processes for network and security infrastructure.
- Team-oriented, detail-focused, positive attitude, and customer satisfaction driven.
- Experience in consulting, deployment, or support in large enterprise environments is highly desirable.
