Data Engineer

FTE w/ Benefits. Bellevue, WA - PST hours.

The main skill set required is very strong in SQL and Azure Synapse.

• Ability to gather and understand requirements by studying features/user stories and implementing them.
• Design and development for change requests from client.
• Analyze existing data flow and suggest enhancements/improvements based on technical expertise.
• Prepare test scenarios/test cases for user stories and share unit testing results as part of development completion.
• Monitor ETL jobs, pipelines and fix job failures.
• Troubleshoot data issues, solve discrepancies and provide business intelligence insights.
• Provide support to users on data related questions/issues during UAT and PROD cycles.

• Microsoft SQL Server
• Database and ETL design concepts
• TSQL
• SQL Server Analysis Services
• Fluent in DAX queries (good to have)
• Azure Synapse – including creating scripts for ETL using Python (PySpark)
• Experience with Excel – creating data pivots to different sources for analysis
• Good to have prior experience with Microsoft projects, processes, and tools (like VSTS, VSO)

Expertise/at least 7+ years of experience in the above technical areas.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
