Co-Founder – Product and Technical Builder; CPO

Lost In Translation is building an AI platform to prevent distributed teams from failing due to miscommunication across functions and cultures. Miscommunication is a trillion-dollar problem in global work forces, and we’re solving it with meaning-aware AI.

We are looking for a Cofounder who will grow into the Chief Product Officer (CPO) role.

What we are looking for

• Education: Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
• Experience: 5+ years in software engineering and/or product development
• Ideally you have startup or entrepreneurial experience: You’ve shipped something end-to-end without a big-company safety net
• Strong product-facing technical skills
• Experience with React/Typescript/Vue and Python/Java/C#
• Experience with AWS or Azure
• Capable of owning and deliveringend-to-end features
• ML/AI familiarity: some hands-on experience building ML models and leveraging LLMs / GenAI in real projects (prototyping, fine-tuning, or API-based)
• Solid product/UX instincts: You can turn customer pain into usable product
• Willingness to talk to customers and run discovery calls
• Startup mindset: bias to ship, test, and learn over over-engineering

The Role

This is a true cofounder role. In the first 9 months, you’ll do a bit of everything (coding, product design, customer conversations, even supporting fundraising prep). You won’t be carrying this alone. You’ll be working side-by-side daily with the CEO, splitting the load.

Over time, as we grow and hire:

• You transition into CPO , leading product strategy, design, and customer-facing priorities.
• The CEO focuses on technology, fundraising, and relationships.

You are not expected to be a solo superhero. But you must be willing to roll up your sleeves in the early stage and own real work across tech, product, and customer until the team scales.

Day to Day (0-9 Months, Pre Funding)

• Build and own MVP surfaces: onboarding flows, integrations, dashboards
• Run customer interviews and translate insights into product changes
• Lead UI/UX and product flow design
• Collaborate on fundraising decks and investor conversations

Post Funding

• Transition into CPO role: build and lead the product/design team
• Define and own the product roadmap and GTM experiments
• Partner with CEO on company strategy, customer growth, and fundraising

• Location: Seattle (in-person collaboration required)
• Compensation: Equity only until seed funding. Equity (40-50%)
