• Ensure high quality patient care.
• Maintain a professional atmosphere and appearance of the doctor’s office and pre‑test room.
• Understand ocular terminology and diseases and use ocular abbreviations.
• Explain preliminary examinations to patients.
• Complete paperwork and perform testing on patients before the doctor examination.
• Promote visual field testing and retinal screenings to eligible patients.
• Perform exam pre‑screening.
• Review prescriptions/patient information, identify special needs, and consult with optician, doctor, or management as necessary.
• Ensure equipment is properly maintained.

• Fluent in reading and speaking both English and Spanish.
• Previous retail/optical experience preferred but not required.
• Strong customer service skills.
