Position Summary

The Senior Financial Advisor is responsible for leading client relationships, delivering comprehensive financial planning and investment advice, and contributing to the growth and strategic direction of the advisory practice. This role combines advanced technical expertise, business development, and leadership responsibilities, including mentoring junior advisors and supporting firm initiatives.

The Senior Financial Advisor serves as a trusted advisor to clients and a key contributor to the firm’s long‑term success. Responsibilities and time allocation may evolve as the practice grows and business needs change.

Key Responsibilities Client Relationship Management & Financial Planning (≈50%)
  • Serve as the primary advisor for assigned client relationships
  • Lead comprehensive financial planning engagements across retirement, investment, risk management, and wealth strategy
  • Conduct client meetings to deliver advice, recommendations, and ongoing planning updates
  • Monitor client progress toward financial goals and adjust strategies as needed
  • Maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and service
  • Respond to complex client questions and planning scenarios with sound judgment and expertise
  • Maintain a fiduciary, client‑first approach in all planning and advisory activities
Business Development & Growth (≈20%)
  • Drive new client acquisition through referrals, networking, and Centers of Influence (COIs)
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with external partners such as CPAs, attorneys, and business owners
  • Participate in or lead seminars, educational events, and marketing initiatives
  • Support firm growth strategies and contribute to revenue development goals
  • Identify opportunities to deepen relationships with existing clients
  • Develop portfolio strategies aligned with client risk tolerance, time horizon, and goals
  • Evaluate market conditions, economic trends, and investment opportunities
  • Oversee portfolio construction, implementation, and rebalancing decisions
  • Execute or supervise trades and transactions in accordance with firm policies and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain relationships with product providers and investment partners
  • Mentor and coach Associate Financial Advisors and other team members
  • Provide guidance on planning strategies, case analysis, and client communication
  • Support onboarding and professional development of advisory staff
  • Contribute to a collaborative, learning‑oriented team environment
Business & Practice Management (≈5%)
  • Maintain accurate client records and documentation in CRM and planning systems
  • Ensure compliance with firm policies, regulatory standards, and record‑retention requirements
  • Support operational efficiency improvements within the advisory practice
  • Participate in firm meetings, planning initiatives, and strategic discussions
  • Advanced financial planning and investment knowledge

Qualifications & Licensing Required
  • Series 7
  • Series 66 (or equivalent)
  • Washington State Life, Accident & Health Insurance licenses (can be acquired within the first few months of hire)
  • Demonstrated experience in financial advisory or wealth management
Preferred
  • CFP® or other advanced financial planning designation
  • Prior experience managing client relationships independently
  • Experience mentoring or leading junior advisors
  • Familiarity with financial planning software and CRM platforms
