Senior Geotechnical Engineer; Ph.D. or M.S

Overview

Senior Geotechnical Engineer (Ph.D. or M.S.) – Bellevue, WA. In this role you will work as part of a team responsible for the inspection, analysis, and evaluation of geotechnical systems (e.g., foundations, retaining walls, excavation support systems, levees, dams, slopes, etc.) and frequently the preparation of repair/mitigation concepts.

• Conducting field inspections and subsurface explorations
• Performing geotechnical and civil engineering analyses
• Assisting with peer review of the design and construction of geotechnical systems
• Preparing conceptual designs for the repair/restoration of damaged geotechnical systems

• Ph.D. in Civil Engineering specializing in Geotechnical Engineering from an accredited university + 3 years of post-graduate experience
• Alternatively, the candidate may have an M.S. in Civil Engineering specializing in Geotechnical Engineering from an accredited university + a minimum of 5 years of experience
• P.E. License in at least one state is required
• Degrees, experience or related coursework in Geology/Geological Engineering, Groundwater/Surface Water Hydrology or Structural Engineering is a strong plus
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills and potential to develop successful client relations
• Attention to detail, dedication to quality and accuracy, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and effective leadership skills
• Ability to work independently or support multiple group projects and to interact with other engineers, administrative staff, and clients
• Ability to gather information from field investigations, document reviews, and interviews and to synthesize and convey technical conclusions
• Knowledge of geotechnical modeling software, graphing software, GIS, and imaging software is a strong plus

Base salary and total compensation reflect experience and capabilities and may include bonuses. The base salary range for this position is USD $ – USD $ per year.
