Mechanical Analysis Engineer

Protingent Staffing has an exciting contract Mechanical Analysis Engineer opportunity.

• Perform stress analysis for test equipment and components using FEA and hand calculations.
• Present analysis results to internal and external stakeholders.
• Interface with the Mechanical testing teams to ensure test requirements are met.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary Engineering and Project Teams on requirements and inputs.
• Support continuous learning and application of nuclear industry best practices to maintain the highest quality of engineering design and proactively identify process change/enhancement opportunities.
• Perform peer review to maintain the expected quality standard as per the engineering quality assurance plan.
• Work as a technical point of contact for various focus tasks.

• B.S., M.S. or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university. Aerospace, Nuclear, and Civil Engineering degrees are also considered.
• Minimum of 5+ years of related experience with a B.S. degree, or 2+ years with an M.S. degree, or 0+ years with a Ph.D. degree.
• Proficient in finite element stress analysis, mechanical analysis methods and commercial mechanical stress analysis and modeling tools with emphasis on ANSYS and Solid Works.
• Strong understanding of solid mechanics, and materials failure mechanism.
• Demonstrated experience in structural analysis, buckling analysis, thermal analysis, and seismic analysis.
• Working experience with equipment design and analysis codes and standards such as AISC, ASME BPVC and Piping Code.
• Experience with conceptual design and sizing equipment and structural components through basic calculation and utilizing Mathcad.
• Strong communication skills and collaborative teamwork is highly desired.
• The successful candidate will possess a high degree of trust and integrity, communicate openly and display respect and a desire to foster teamwork.

• Pay Rate Range: $52,000-$85,000 (Pay rates are approved based on candidate location, education and experience)
