Job Summary
HDR is an employee‑owned firm focused on creating inclusive, innovative environments. We are seeking a Regional Transit Planning Practice Leader to help grow our Transportation Planning Business Class and Transit Market Sector.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with the Transit Planning Practice Leader to identify practice strategy and emerging market opportunities.
- Coordinate region‑specific market drivers and develop products to meet client needs.
- Present regional transit planning activities on regular practice group calls.
- Contribute to the technical development of staff in all transit planning areas (policy, systems, corridor, operations, safety, funding, and all modes).
- Identify market opportunities in coordination with Area Business Development Leaders and develop pursuit strategies.
- Identify and retain industry talent with Area and Corporate leadership.
- Lead workshare communications that result in technical excellence and enhanced utilization.
- Serve as a project manager for major projects, delivering quality work on time and exceeding client expectations.
- Represent HDR at state and regional professional organizations.
- Perform other duties as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Engineering, or related discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of transit planning experience, with breadth across planning areas.
- Experience developing and implementing strategic plans related to team building, skills development, and business development.
- Master’s degree in Planning, Engineering, or related discipline.
- Professional registration (AICP, PE, PTOE, PTP, PMP) preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Planning, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 10 years of transportation planning experience.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills.
- Strong understanding of transit planning principles.
- Positive attitude and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and personnel.
- Solid business development skills and strong presentation capabilities.
