About the Position
Bellevue Youth Choirs seeks an experienced, collaborative pianist to support choral rehearsals andperformances for multiple ensemble levels. This position is part-time and canbe structured around one or more days of service:
· Prima(Grades 1–2) – Wednesdays,5:00–6:00pm and 6:05–7:05pm
· [Optional]Young Adult Choir –Thursdays, 6:00–8:30pm (tentative)
Note:
Our teaching schedule isstill being finalized. There is the possibility we could use pianists during
Prelude/Prima on Tuesdays or Prelude on Wednesdays.
Rehearsals begin the week of September8, 2025, following the Bellevue School District calendar (with breaks during Thanksgiving, Winter, Midwinter, and Spring).
Responsibilities
· Accompanyweekly rehearsals and performances.
· Arrive5 minutes before rehearsals; assist with musical and classroom needs.
· Supportsingers with clear, expressive playing in a range of musical styles.
· Serveas a musical role model for choristers in rehearsal.
· Optional:
Provide vocal modeling when comfortable.
Qualifications
· Formalmusic training required; degree in collaborative piano, choral conducting, ormusic education preferred.
· Experienceaccompanying choirs and working with young singers.
· Familiarity with classical, jazz, pop, folk, and multicultural styles.
· Strong interpersonal skills and timely communication with both youth and adults.
Status: Hourly, part-time. September through June.
One-year renewable contract.
Pay: $50/hour for rehearsals. $200 flat rate per Mainstage concert.
Additional pay for tours/outreach when applicable.
Reports to: Executive Artistic Director, Kayla Johnson
Location: Cross of Christ Church, 411 156th Ave NE, Bellevue, WA 98007.Concert locations vary.

Bellevue Youth Choirs (BYC) is anon profit organization founded in 2012, serving youth from Pre-K through 12 th +grade across the greater Bellevue area. Choristers learn vocal technique,musicianship, and performance skills while participating in mainstage concerts,outreach events, festivals, and collaborations with premier musical groups.
