Mechanic, Trades ​/ Skilled Labor

Applications are being accepted for an 8-hour per day Mechanic position at the Transportation building. Candidate shall have a minimum of one year's experience as a mechanic or inspector in truck or bus maintenance at a commercial garage, fleet leasing company, or similar facility. ASE certification is preferred but not required.

The Mechanic is responsible for the maintenance and inspection of all vehicles owned and/or operated by the school district. The Mechanic is responsible for maintaining a safe shop and safe, economically operating vehicles. He/she is also responsible for supervising and/or performing repairs and maintenance on all aforementioned vehicles.

Required qualifications are that the applicant not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of himself/herself or others with or without reasonable accommodations, and must be capable of regularly attending to the duties of the position assigned. This position is subject to a veterans preference.
