Primary Function

To clean Bellevue University buildings and facilities to ensure areas are presentable and safe for students, faculty, and staff.

Essential Functions
  • Sweeps and mops floors.
  • Cleans sinks, toilets, urinals and all dispensers using appropriate cleaning solutions.
  • Spot‑cleans walls, doors and partitions.
  • Empties trashcans and sanitary napkin receptacles.
  • Refills paper towel, toilet paper, soap and sanitary napkin dispensers.
Cleans Entrance ways and Hallways
  • Sweeps and vacuums floors (including edging and baseboards).
  • Washes windows using cleaning solutions.
Cleans Offices
  • Vacuums floors (edging and under desks).
  • Dusts hard surfaces (other than desks and bookcases unless asked).
  • Spot‑cleans walls.
Cleans Classrooms, Conference Rooms, Game Room & Quiet Lounge, Locker Rooms, etc.
  • Sprays showers with disinfect chemicals.
  • Wipes off tables and chairs.
  • Picks up trash and empties trashcans.
  • Spot‑cleans walls.
  • Cleans chalk/white boards; replaces markers/chalk and erasers.
Marginal Functions
  • Shovels and salts walkways during the winter months to ensure areas are clear and safe.
  • Sets‑up rooms/cleans up after university and community events.
  • Washes accessible interior and exterior windows, cleans blinds and ledges.
  • Shampoos/extracts carpets.
  • Cleans out light fixtures.
  • Cleans outside tables and benches.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills & Abilities
  • Education:

    High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of safe handling procedures for various chemicals and cleaning agents.
  • Ability to read and understand written work orders.
  • Must have excellent time‑management skills, and be detail oriented and dependable.
  • Computer

    Skills:

    General office and internet skills;
    Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
