Job Summary

Responsible for cleaning assigned areas within federal contract buildings.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform basic custodial duties in a timely, safe and professional manner.
• Vacuum, dust mop, sweep, and wet mop floors.
• Clean and disinfect bathroom fixtures and supply with paper and soap products.
• Empty trash in assigned areas. Secure liners to contract specifications.
• Dust and clean walls, windows, woodwork and above floor surfaces.
• Dust, clean and polish furniture.
• Clean elevators and stairwells.
• Observe proper safety precautions in use of equipment and supplies.
• Work with all cleaning chemicals in a safe manner.
• Meet or exceed the attendance expectations for this position.
• Actively maintain a safe, healthy, and positive environment that promotes the physical and emotional well‑being of employees, customers and participants.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education And/Or Experience

• Previous custodial experience preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

• None required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Must be able to work effectively in a secure, confidential area.
• Must be able to understand and follow training instructions.
• Must be able to work with mild cleaning chemicals, utilizing proper personal protective equipment in a safe manner.

Physical Demands

Light. Lifting 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds.

Work Environment

Moderate. Occasionally exposed to extreme atmospheric conditions (temperature, noise, fumes, dust, etc.).
