Job Description

Under close supervision of an internship coordinator and/or an experienced staff member, and for a minimum of 160 hours, the graduate-level select internship provides real-world knowledge through performance of a variety of functions across Nebraska’s Judicial Branch. Experience includes, but is not limited to, high quality execution of engagements and special projects in positions requiring minimum qualification including two-years of experience to individuals pursuing an advanced degree.

The graduate select intern builds skills through shadowing of experienced staff working with clients and the public involved within the Nebraska court system, probation offices and/or the Office of Public Guardian. Graduate-level select interns will take part in hands‑on participation and planning and will attend regular staff and client meetings and/or court sessions. While contributing to the mission of the Judicial Branch, experiential learning will lead to skill development and provide opportunities to meet a variety of people in the profession, allowing the select‑intern to form relationships that can be built upon in the future.
