Under the direction of the Nurse Manager, the Nurse Aide II performs a variety of basic patient care activities and related procedures in caring for the needs of the patients. He/She assists in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment.

• Provides liaison with patients and families as needed while supporting clinical staff.
• Performs basic patient care activities and assists with ADL's as assigned.
• Provides assistance with the nutritional needs of patients, including feeding, mealtime setup, supplying fluids, and delivering supplemental snacks.
• Assists with lifting, turning, and transporting patients, maintaining proper body mechanics.
• Performs laboratory procedures as directed by the Registered Nurse (venipuncture, EKG, GTT, blood culture, urine collection procedures, etc.).
• Demonstrates the 4 C's of Commitment, Compassion, Competence, and Communication.

Required:

• High School Diploma
• BLS Certification through American Heart Association
• Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills
• Proven track record of compassionate care and service

Preferred:

• At least one year experience as a phlebotomist or EKG Technician; current enrollment in health care training program as CNA or PCT preferred
• College degree preferred

Certifications and Licenses:

• BLS certification through American Heart Association

• Evenings 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
• Every other weekend; schedule during the week will vary depending on department needs
• Full-Time (37.5 hrs)
• Mandatory Orientation

• Takes and records temperature, pulse, respiration, B/P, height/weight; reports findings outside of normal range to RN
• Provides assistance with activities of daily living (ADL) for assigned patients
• Assists with nutritional needs and feeding; sets up meals and provides fluids
• Assists with patient mobility and transfers using proper body mechanics
• Performs laboratory procedures as directed by the RN
• Demonstrates commitment, compassion, competence, and communication
