Oncology Registered Nurse

Overview

Oncology Registered Nurse role at Regional Cancer Care Associates (RCCA) in Belleville, NJ. This position focuses on infusion therapy for oncology patients as part of a fast-paced clinical team.

• Administer chemotherapy, biotherapy, antibiotics, symptom management, patient education, and triage patients.
• Provide and document professional nursing care utilizing the nursing process.
• Demonstrate competency in chemotherapy administration, monoclonal antibody therapy, IV therapy, subcutaneous and intramuscular injections.
• Follow ONS guidelines during adverse events (e.g., extravasations, infiltrations, chemotherapy spill incidents).
• Comply with medical record documentation requirements and federal/state laws related to release of health information.
• Apply ONS and OSHA guidelines through training and experience.
• Maintain a systematic patient evaluation process, documenting evaluation data from relevant sources.
• Assist other healthcare personnel in patient care.
• Contribute to maintaining the environment of care, including equipment and material resources.
• Communicate effectively with physicians and the multidisciplinary team.
• Adhere to protocols, policies, and procedures.
• Be willing to cross-train and perform duties in other clinic areas (e.g., pharmacy, triage, lab, injections, scheduling).

• Familiar with VADs.
• Willingness to work with research subjects and administer trial medications after appropriate training.

• Current RN License
• Oncology Certification
• 2+ years’ experience in medical oncology preferred
• Either ONS chemotherapy/biotherapy certified or willing to obtain within one year from start date
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers

• Able to lift 10 pounds for routine performance of essential functions
• May be exposed to indoor/outdoor environmental conditions, blood borne pathogens, physical hazards (e.g., needles), and chemical hazards
• May have long periods of sitting, standing, and walking

Per hour: $37.67 - $50.82 (compensation packages based on skills, experience, and qualifications)
