RN Pre Procedure Phase II Part Time

Overview

Find your calling at Mercy! Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Pre Procedure Phase II
Status: Part Time
Shift: Days

• Assessment with the patient prior to admission via a phone interview or in person
• Collect the patient's medical history from previous medical records
• Work closely with the anesthesia department to coordinate the patient's needs
• Perform direct patient care activities for all age groups
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for patients in accordance with the plan of care, established hospital and departmental policies, procedures, and standards of care
• Perform duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards

Required:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• Current RN license in the state of practice
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience
• Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association
• Strong clinical skills, effective communication, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Preferred:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• ACLS, PALS, and NRP (required for areas where applicable; must be maintained current)
• At least 1 year of RN experience

The Ambulatory Surgery Unit (ASU) is located on the ground floor of the main hospital adjacent to the OR and PACU, consisting of a 28‑bed surgery prep unit and a 32‑bed outpatient unit for pre and postoperative care for pediatric patients and adult postoperative care.
