Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Telemetry RN with at least 2 years of experience, ACLS and BLS certification, and a current IL RN license for night shifts on a cardiac-focused unit.

• Work in an acute care hospital on the Telemetry unit
• Cardiac patient population with ratios of 1:5-6
• Unit size is 40 staffed beds within a 222-bed facility
• 12-hour night shifts from 18:45 to 07:15
• Every other weekend is required
• Float required to all inpatient units at both campuses as necessary
• Not open to block scheduling
• Uses Epic EMR;
  Epic experience is required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Magnet-designated hospital
• Navy scrubs required
• Responsible for managing critical care cardiac drips and care of cardiac patients
• Expected to perform hourly rounding and bedside shift reports with all patients
• Must be self-sufficient and able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Float coverage may extend to nearby affiliated hospitals
• No more than 7 days of requested time off permitted per 13-week contract, with no RTO allowed during the first week
• Fit testing for respirators required; facials hair must allow proper sealing
• Permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Travelers may stay up to 18 months, followed by a 3-month break
• Pre-employment modules required prior to start
• No medical marijuana cards accepted

• Active IL RN license required at time of consideration (not a compact state)
• Minimum of 2 years' Telemetry RN experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Experience with cardiac drips, sheath pulls, and central line management required
• Epic documentation experience required
• Must reside outside a 75-mile radius; local candidates not accepted
• First-time travelers accepted
