POSITION SUMMARY
Assistant Program Manager is responsible for assisting in therapeutic programming. This position reports directly to the Programs Manager. Assistant Program Manager will advocate for clients and staff and ensure that clients receive the highest quality care consistent with the CARE/TCI practice model.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Provides shift planning, coaching and decision‑making support for staff on duty, consistent with CARE principles.
- Assists in interviews, selects, supervises, and completes performance evaluations for Youth Care Workers assigned to the cottage; works with Program Managers to correct performance problems and recommends disciplinary actions to the Director of Residential Services.
- Completes Medicaid documentation as required and oversees staff completion of Medicaid paperwork.
- Role‑models a strong work ethic focused on providing quality care for children.
- Builds trust and strong relationships with staff, peers, and stakeholders; ensures ongoing communication among youth care staff and other residential team members.
- Identifies staff development needs, recommends and/or requires ongoing training, and provides input to the annual training plan.
- Participates in treatment planning and coordinates implementation of treatment plans for residents, consulting with therapists regarding behavioral management and recommending adjustments.
- Reviews incidents involving restraints or timeouts; identifies patterns and develops strategies to reduce episodes; assists with restraints when needed.
- Ensures required records and reports are completed, including client summaries, incident reports, workers' compensation reports and other administrative and treatment summaries. li>
- Assists in developing the cottage budget, monitors expenses and minimizes budget variances.
- Oversees compliance with Medicaid requirements and documentation by assigned staff; requests training if needed.
- Requires on‑call status whenever applicable.
- Assumes other related tasks as required by the Program Manager.
Submits maintenance requests and ensures a hygienic environment throughout the cottage.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to direct services in a culturally respectful manner.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Proof of auto insurance.
- DCFS/CANTS clearance.
Bachelor’s Degree in the human service field with 2 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience (preferred).

TCI (Therapeutic Crisis Intervention) – Employee Requirements- Pass the written test annually.
- Pass the physical test every six months (if applicable to the role).
