Locum Veterinarian - Quinte Regional Pet Hospital

We are an after-hours emergency hospital located near the beautiful Bay of Quinte. We have a strong support staff who strive for excellent patient and client care with teamwork and collaboration. Our hospital has everything required to help pets in the community including a diagnostic digital radiograph machine, well stocked and laid out treatment area, in-house IDEXX blood machines, and more!

Our ideal team member loves learning, is eager to grow, and works well in a team environment. Our hours may be during the evenings and weekends, but we are very flexible and will work with you - most of our full-time employees only work 3 days a week.

Enjoy your days off in Zwick’s Park, which is Belleville’s most popular outdoor recreational area; enjoy hiking, biking, boating, or fishing. Belleville also offers lovely shops and restaurants in the historic and charming downtown area. The low cost of living is also a surprising added benefit! Prince Edward County is also a short 25-minute drive if you are into world-class beaches, resorts and inns, cycling, and lovely wineries and vineyards.

Expected Wage Range: $85 - $120/hr.

Our ideal Locum Veterinarian (DVM) will demonstrate an exemplary standard of medicine with patients in a compassionate and caring manner. The DVM will be largely responsible for clinical work and will combine clinical expertise, emotional intelligence and utilize a servant leadership mindset to promote excellence in veterinary medicine.

After graduation, I worked at a regular daytime Veterinary clinic for two years before moving to Quinte Regional Pet Hospital as an after-hours and Emergency Medicine Doctor. Since joining the Quinte Regional Animal Hospital, I have come to love the ability to connect with owners and their pets on a deeper level addressing not only their present concerns but all of the animals' health concerns since there are no appointment time slots and time limitations.

Since starting here, I can make a huge impact - not only in the short term but the long term for both the owner and the patient. On top of this, I work with an amazing team of Veterinary Technicians and Assistants who make doing this much easier as they go above and beyond not only with the patients but also to help me perform my best.

Plus, they always do it enthusiastically and readily, making our clients' and patients' experience that much better. We are so lucky to be servicing this area full of many fantastic indoor and outdoor opportunities that allow everyone from every walk of life with every type of passion to thrive.
