- Support the company's best manufacturing initiatives as a team and by partnering with other sites.
- Manage, coach and develop a small group of engineers that will report to you daily.
- Lead, monitor and analyze production numbers and KPIs.
- Directly identify continuous improvement projects, overseeing group CI and 2-6 individual CI projects at a time, including managing budgets and project timelines.
- Complete the assigned area's capability and capacity analysis on a biannual basis.
- Lead and participate in daily mechanical troubleshooting of equipment and processes.
- Assist the new model engineering group by ensuring that the department is ready for tooling, line modification and start up.
- Develop and improve line layouts and make line modifications.
- Facilitate sharing practices with sister sites.
- Train associates on proper quality, production and engineering procedures.
- Conceptualize and design fixtures and gauges in 2D and 3D software.
- Lead the partnership between operations and quality to help determine root cause analysis of quality issues and establish countermeasures.
- Spend up to 50% of your time on the manufacturing floor, focused on engineering efforts.
- Other engineering tasks as assigned.
- Automotive manufacturing work experience.
- Capital equipment projects.
- Exposure to Lean and/or Six Sigma methodologies.
- New model launch.
- Strong data analysis skills.
- Tooling.
- Power BI.
