Oversee horse usage and rider participation

Create student goals each session
Process student payments & secure funding sources
Follow all policies and procedures as developed by Discovery Riders
Follow all CHA standards for program and safety
Work to build relationships with volunteers to assure program safety, aid retention, and ensure consistent handling of the horses
Interact in a professional manner with parents/guardians regarding student goals and lessons
Be an active participant in staff meetings, continuing to meet the mission and goals of the Discovery Riders programs
Work with other staff to develop additional programming for the organization as a whole
Ability to communicate with instructors about student goals, horse assignments, and usage for each session
Ability to communicate effectively with volunteers, parents/guardians, and riders of different ages
Ability to enforce appropriate safety regulations and emergency procedures and apply appropriate behavior management techniques
Ability to lift 30 pounds and carry it for 100 yards
Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental hazards, activity-related hazards, and individuals who might be in need of help
