• Opens and closes the store in the absence of store management, including all required systems start‑ups, required cash handling, and ensuring the floor and stock room are ready for the business day. Responsible for opening back door of store for deliveries.
• Completes product returns, order voids, customer refunds, cash drops to the safe, and provides change as requested to cash registers.
• Models and delivers a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
• Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services, resolving issues and answering questions to ensure a positive experience.
• Shares customer service best practices with all team members, demonstrating interpersonal habits (e.g., greeting, eye contact, courtesy) and Walgreens service traits such as proactive help and satisfying customer needs.
• Responsible for holding store keys to open and close without management as necessary.
• Assists and coaches team members in the warehouse and vendor ordering process, including opening the backdoor for vendor deliveries.
• Registers all related sales on the assigned cash register, handling scanning errors, price verifications, missing items, price modifications, and voids.
• Assists managers or assistant store managers in reviewing order exceptions on release day and in reverse logistics activities.
• Develops and evaluates displays, including promotional, seasonal, and sale merchandise; completes resets and revisions.
• Maintains accurate inventory counts and on‑hand quantities for all departments and storage locations.
• Ensures the Outdate program is followed with team members.
• Sets basic department pricing, makes daily price changes, and ensures proper signage supports accurate product pricing.
• Performs bookkeeping activities, including cash reports, cash counts, ledgers, and bill payments as requested.
• Maintains the store’s exterior and interior condition, requesting repairs as needed.
• Separates food items per policy (e.g., raw foods from pre‑cooked, raw and frozen meats on bottom shelves) and performs stock rotation using FIFO.
• Operates store systems and equipment with working knowledge.
• Assists at the pharmacy out window when requested.
• Ensures compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products (e.g., alcohol and tobacco).
• Conducts bag checks of team members before store closing.
• Adheres to all company policies and maintains respectful relationships with coworkers.
• Completes special assignments and other tasks as assigned.
• Attends training and completes PPLs requested by the manager.
• Communicates assigned tasks to team members when store management is absent.
• Reports disciplinary issues and customer complaints to management.

• One year of prior leadership, supervisory, or retail key holder work experience.
• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English. (Not required in Puerto Rico)
• Preferable knowledge of store inventory control.

• Valid PTCB certification or pharmacy license as required by state.
