What does the Licensed Nurse do? (including but not limited to)As a Licensed Vocational Nurse, you are responsible for providing basic patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse, including taking vital signs, administering medications, preparing patients for exams, collecting specimens, assisting with procedures, educating patients on self‑care, and documenting patient information thoroughly while maintaining clear communication with the healthcare team and patients.
Essential duties and responsibilities (including but not limited to)- Participates in the planning, coordinating, and documenting of total patient care in conjunction with the multidisciplinary treatment team.
- Accurately reports and records the client’s condition and care, including signs and symptoms which may be indicative of change.
- Accurately monitors skin assessments with proper documentation and reporting of changes.
- Completes, maintains, and documents accurate and relevant clinical notes.
- Ensures timely and accurate clinical documentation for all nursing clinical services provided.
- Participation in education, in‑services, and other training and meetings as needed.
- Facilitates appropriate nursing action(s) in response to administrative directives and a changing healthcare environment.
- Ensures all MD orders are followed and documented accordingly during the assigned shift.
- Manages medication administration, monitoring, and proper storage of medication and complies with all medication management policies and procedures.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Must have active Licensed Vocational Nurse in the state of Texas.
- Minimum of 1 year experience as an LVN; experience in behavioral health care preferred.
- Certification in Basic Life Support.
- Certification in non‑violent crisis intervention.
