Job SummaryThe Medical Director is responsible for the medical care of patients at the Healthcare for the Homeless Health Center and for supervising physicians and nurse practitioners. The role supports an interdisciplinary team approach to care, monitors quality, and leads initiatives to improve clinical performance and ensure compliance with accreditation standards.
Responsibilities- Provide oversight of patient care and conduct clinical oversight of physicians and nurse practitioners.
- Implement and monitor quality improvement initiatives across the center.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements.
- Influence interdisciplinary team culture to promote collaboration and excellence.
- Mentor and coach clinical staff on best practices and evidence‑based care.
- Education: MD or DO required.
- Licensure: Registered physician in Texas;
Family Medicine MD preferred. - Work Experience: Minimum three years in patient navigation, care management, or direct service provision.
- Language: Bilingual preferred (Spanish/English or English/Vietnamese).
- Communication: Above‑average verbal and written skills; heavy public contact.
- Skills: Analytical, PC proficiency.
- Reliable transportation to multiple Harris County worksites.
- Passion for community‑based health work and self‑starter attitude.
