Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant to join our team in Bell, California. This contract-to-permanent position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic accounting environment while supporting financial operations and compliance. The ideal candidate will bring strong bilingual Spanish skills, a solid accounting background, and an ability to thrive in a freight-forwarding or supply chain industry setting.

Responsibilities:

- Manage general ledger entries, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records.

- Perform month-end closing tasks, including reconciliations and preparation of financial statements.

- Calculate and file taxes in-house, maintaining compliance with relevant regulations.

- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including daily bank reconciliations.

- Conduct intercompany account reconciliations to maintain accurate financial reporting.

- Generate management reports and financial statements to support decision-making.

- Collaborate with external accountants, tax advisors, and auditors to ensure compliance and address inquiries.

- Maintain electronic invoicing and compliance with Mexican financial regulations.

- Utilize accounting software such as CONTPAQi, Oracle, or Net Suite to streamline processes.

- Travel occasionally to support accounting operations, if required. Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.

- A minimum of 2-4 years of accounting experience, preferably in the freight-forwarding or supply chain industry.

- Proficiency in Spanish is required to effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders.

- Strong knowledge of general ledger, month-end processes, and tax regulations.

- Familiarity with accounting systems like CONTPAQi, Oracle, Net Suite, and Microsoft Office tools.

- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.

- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.

- Experience with corporate tax filings, sales tax calculations, and journal entries.
