Position: Poker Floorperson (BELL GARDENS, CA. 90201)

Overview

Parkwest Casino is looking for an enthusiastic, motivated Poker Floorperson provides seating and service to customers in the Poker section of Parkwest Bicycle Casino. Poker Floorperson supervises dealer performance, protects integrity of the games, and maintains a comfortable, friendly environment by performing the additional duties below. Responsibilities
  • Generally responsible for starting games.
  • Authorized to assign service personnel within the section.
  • Explains seating policy and provides brief instructions to customers as needed.
  • Observe and report on all aspects of games, rules, procedures and check for any irregular activities.
  • Displays working knowledge of all games offered in the casino.
  • Displays working knowledge of Title 31 regulations.
  • Perform regular table touches, greeting guest and making self-available to dealers and chip runners.
  • Assist in administering promotions. Works with Dealer Coordinators to start new games.
  • Displays knowledge of player/guest tendencies, habits and likes.
  • Anticipate the needs of player/guest; seats players at appropriate tables.
  • Runs checks to the Cage for players' chips.
  • Brings new decks of cards to the Dealers when requested
  • Will assist in taking names on the boards as needed. Keeps track of players waiting for seats to open in games.
  • Recommends the need for new games to another Floorperson and/or Dealer Coordinator.
  • Reports any irregularity or suspicious activity concerning the integrity of the game to the Casino Lead or Shift Manager.
  • Stay on task - Stay in assigned area during shift, limit unnecessary non-work-related conversation, and fulfill all tasks in a timely manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Must be able to pass mandatory screening including a background check, credit, and drug test
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a current California gambling establishment team member permit, badge or license and a California Gambling Control Commission issued Key Employee License – if necessary.
  • Interacts well with guests and co-workers
  • Available for full time work, open availability which will include weekends and evenings
  • Excellent communication skills; able to interact with, understand and respond to common complaints and inquiries
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent math and problem-solving skills; able to apply concepts such as fractions, percentage ratios, and proportions to practical situations
  • Basic computer program and key boarding proficiency.
  • Knowledge in the safe and appropriate use of tools and procedures related to the essential functions of the job
Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience: Two to four years in a customer-service position or similar environment. At least one year experience as a Dealer and/or Assistant Floorperson preferred.

  • Required to stand and walk short distances upwards of two or three hours at a time.

  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
