The role of the Med Flight Operations Nurse manager is to have oversight and ensure patient care and quality standards are met and comply with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements. Supervises and ensures continuous improvement of all clinical practices, services and operations by designing and implementing systems, processes and methods to evaluate and improve patient care within the program. Manages day-to-day activities of the operations;
monitors quality service and utilization standards; supervises shift(s) activities and delivery of patient care. Manages the service(s) day-to-day clinical and business operations including safety, practice standards, staffing, training, payroll, budgets, fiscal management, and quality improvement. Works with other internal and external leaders, as a team, to help ensure best in practice, and evidence-based care is provided to all patients requiring transport services throughout the system and region.
- In collaboration with physician leadership and other medical staff, administration, and other health care providers, develops and implements short and long range plans, and leads, develops and revises programs which enhance department services.
- Develops, implements and maintains a service delivery model for the area accountability.
- Develops and maintains community relationships as it relates to the continuum of care.
- Participates in the development of patient care delivery models and/or care programs, nursing policies and procedures that describe how patient care needs and/or patient populations receiving nursing care are assessed, evaluated and met.
- Participates in the development and implementation of Billings Clinic’s plans for providing nursing care to patients.
- Participates in the implementation of an effective, ongoing program to measure, assess and improve the quality of nursing care. Monitors compliance to the plan.
